May 9th 2008, GCAC Artists and Members met Artist Leonard Wilkinson, He demonstrated “How to Mat and Frame Your Art Work.” This very special program was co-sponsored by the Galloway Cultural Arts Center (GCAC) and the Noyes Museum. During the presentation Leonard worked with GCAC Artist and Teacher Mary Archibald to frame her watercolor painting from start to finish.
Leonard Wilkinson, educated at Parson School of Design, majored in illustration. From there, he studied art at the Art Students League and Newark School of Design and Industrial Arts.
He works in pen and ink, pastel, acrylics and watercolor. He has shown his work throughout North and South Jersey, in Chicago and at the Philadelphia Black Art Expo and Atlantic City Art Center. He did a one man show at the Ocean City Art Center and has been commissioned to paint many well-known local landmarks and people.
He peruses his art on a full time basis and currently does custom framing at the local AC Moore. His presentation promises to be both interesting and informative.
